GENERAL OVERVIEW

When it is necessary to restart the paper machine after a stoppage or sheet breakage, it is very important that the tail passage takes place safely and quickly. The automation of the procedure is provided by the control system. Unit is activated simply by push button or with an external signal coming from sheet break detecting system.

WHERE TAIL CUTTING SYSTEMS OPERATE

In the wet part of the papermaking process, when the cutting is to be done on the wire or on a wet felt, tail cutting systems that use a needle nozzle water jet operate. In the dry part, when cutting is to be done on the paper as it exits a dryer roll or on the roll itself, tail cutting systems with a rotating blade or equipped with a high and very high pressure needle water jet are used. Speed control through inverters allows perfect tuning of the cutting system that respects the quality of the wire, felt or paper. As always, great attention is given to materials, chosen to ensure resistance in wet and corrosive environments and at high temperatures.
