GENERAL OVERVIEW

Our stretching systems are the result of established and constantly updated technology that enables us to make a difference in all phases of paper machine operation. In the papermaking process, optimal tension control is critical. Controlled movement of the tension roll is essential to avoid excessive tension and prevent slippage of the drive rollers.

 Maintaining constant tension significantly affects productivity and the end result:

  • improve paper quality;
  • decreases paper breaks;
  • extends wire and felt lifetime

DIFFERENT STRETCHING MODELS

Wire/felt/fabric stretching systems include wire arm stretcher and linear stretcher for press or dry end. In the wire arm stretcher, tension roll moves by means of lever arms operated by screw jacks, air rides or pneumatic cylinders; The linear stretcher is available in two designs: screw-jack stretcher, where carriages movement is driven by a rotating screw jack system, and pneumatically compensated screw-jack stretcher, where a pair of air actuators keep constant tension.

AUTOMATIC TENSION CONTROL

Through association with a load cell, our stretchers ensure total control and immediate tension adjustment. The load cell, mounted on a fixed roll or on board of the stretcher itself, continuously measures the force and sends the signal to a controller that calculates the proper roll position to match pre-set tension value.

A COMPLETE RANGE OF WIRE/FELT/FABRIC STRETCHING SYSTEMS

All of our wire arm and linear stretchers, from the original configuration, can be functionally adapted to the paper machine for maximum performance. Moreover, actuation can be by electric, hydraulic or pneumatic motor, leaving you free to choose the solution best suited to your needs.

WHERE STRETCHING SYSTEMS OPERATE

Wire/felt/fabric stretching systems are different depending on the section of use in the paper machine. The lever-type stretcher is used for tension control in the forming section, while linear stretchers find application in the press and drying section. The design and the material change. Stretchers used in the forming section or presses are made of stainless steel, perfect for corrosive environments; stretchers for the drying section, on the other hand, are made of painted carbon steel, an optimal choice for high temperatures.

Each of our stretching systems is designed to meet the specific needs of the machine, from perfect compliance with forming section characteristics to various features that facilitate production. The linear stretcher, for example, allows an easy and quick felt seam adjustment. The stretcher is also in charge of the long stroke roll displacement to accommodate wire, felt or fabric change operations.
